Seeking Local Furs!
Hi! I'm realatively new to the area and would love to find some local furs to hang out with. I'm thinking about trying to set up a meet at a restaurant or something and see if anyone shows up. Anyway, I would love to hear back if anyone's interested. If you are, comment or message me. Thanks! :3

Am i too late?
I know I'm 3 years late but the nearest active furmeet group is in Seattle and as I'm 16 and up in ferndale it might be a bit hard to get there... (that and I don't get my drivers license until march)

Fur-Eh! - Western Canada's Furry Convention

Have you heard about Alberta's first fully fledged furry convention? Fur-Eh! It’s at the Edmonton Hilton Garden Inn on May 4th-6th. Finally! A convention in Western Canada, and easily accessible if you’re coming over the border. As it’s our first year, the theme is Canadiana, so there’s some pretty sweet canuck inspired swag to bring home (toques, scarves, jerseys, collectable furry hockey cards and more!), not to mention access to a few Canadian artists that you might not otherwise see down south! If you want to know more (GoH, programming, registration, etc.), visit the Fur-Eh! website at: http://www.fureh.ca

Spread the word. See you in May!

Ongoing Music, Casual Meets
There are 3 more Saturday concerts at Boulevard Park - this Saturday, the 30th, and August 13th (my birthday!)

Remember, the music is 7-9PM, and I usually show up early and hang out in Woods Coffee.

I'm going to all of them, and I invite you all to come.  It really is quite fun, moreso the more people show up!

The rest under the cutCollapse )

So Pirates premiers on Friday, and I'm going with some friends (who are furries, but not as involved in the fandom atm) on Saturday at 6:40, at Bellis Fair.  We'll want to be there early (about 5:45-6:10ish at least), and I'd love to see some other furs there.

I look like this:  http://www.dream-camera.com/images/nevanreal.png

I may be wearing a tri-corner hat.

Apartments in Bellingham!
Hi guys! My name is Stoker and my wife, razzek, and our good friend djinni are looking into moving into your area in the near future (possibly as soon as October, if all works out :O) I just posted this entry to seattlefurs before being informed of the existence of this group, so I hope nobody minds if I just c/p the post I made there.

"Hi again, SeattleFurs! Our move continues as planned (if anything, we might actually be able to come up there sooner than expected), but I thought I'd turn to your expertise again for the latest plot twists in our ongoing saga.

Rather than settling in Seattle, as originally planned, it's looking like we might end up in the city of Bellingham (and if anyone has any good or bad things to tell me about Bellingham, that also would come in handy). Now, I know the community is named "Seattlefurs," so I hope this isn't too off topic, but I figured this would still be the best place to ask my questions.

Does anyone live in/know someone who lives in Bellingham who could aid us in tracking down a decent apartment there? We're looking for something with two bedrooms that would allow cats (without reaming us on the pet deposit), under $1000 a month. I'm hoping that isn't too much wishful thinking there, but I, the wife, and the roomie are ALL on kind of a tight budget right now.

I apologize again if this is too OT for the community, but I wasn't really sure where else to ask. And, again, if anyone has any reason why we SHOULDN'T move to Bellingham (Lynnwood has also come up as a decent candidate), please let me know!

Thank you so much, guys. Your info has been INVALUABLE so far."

Procession of the Species/Bowling/Food meet!

What:  The 6th Annual Procession of the Species in Bellingham + some fun fursuit bowling down the street at 20th Century Bowling + whatever food place we all decide to go to afterwards!

When: Saturday, May 2nd, 2009. The Procession website says to line up at 3:30 so it would be best to get there no later than that.  It doesn't run too long, it's a pretty quick march, but it's plenty of fun.
Where: The procession lines up at Lottie Street, behind Bellingham Public Library.  20th Century Bowling is over on N State St, which is a tiny bit of a walk.
What to Bring:
Fursuits if you have em!  Ears and tails and paws are ALL welcome.  There's gonna be a ton of people already dressing up, don't let those non-furs outshine you!  That said, we are gonna be in lots of public places so be sure to play nice and be on your best behavior.  Money is important to bring too, for the bowling and for food.  Bowling is $3.50 a game and $2 for shoe rental.  Paws are allowed as are full suits!  Bring cameras too, the more pictures the better of all the events. :P
If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me: (360) 820-2676.

Ideas for a Camping trip.
I'd like to gauge everyone's interest in a summer outing. I know there are other furry camping events out there, but I'd like to start a new one here in Washington round the North to Central Cascades.  I'd like this event to be a camp-out with some other outdoor activities possibly included.
Some of the theme ideas I've compiled together are: Mountain Biking, Geo-cacheing, a cookout, an area that offers clinics and helps with building creature character performance suits.  A mountain Masquerade and/or Sing-along, and thats about all I've schemed up with thus far.

Firstly I'd like to see who all is interested, secondly if anyone has any ideas on activities or a good location in the area, thirdly volunteers?
fourthly tech/logistics details.

Just checking for interest so far, If reactions are good perhaps more will come.

Thanks in advance,

Professor English

If you have any questions, comments, qualms or complaints, please send them straight to me, I'm open to everyone.

I just returned from the Horseshoe, spent two hours there with jondisaurus, matrices, ravengraxton, and seiryuu26.

But why was only northsound (us) there, and exactly nobody from whatfurs? nevanfox, what's the deal, you said you'd be there. :(

We tried.

Whatcom Furries Group Started
I've created a Yahoo Group and now an LJ community for the new Whatcom Furries (What furries?) group. We're preparing to start hosting regular furmeets, and we'd like some input from those interested. The main questions are:

1) How frequently should meets be hosted? Monthly? Biweekly? Weekly?
2) What day of the week would be best?
3) What time of day would be best? Morning? Afternoon? Evening? Night?
4) What sort of activities would be best? Art Jams? Discussion? Fursuiting and outings? Movies? Gaming?

These questions have been put up in the form of polls in the yahoo group, but any answer anywhere is helpful. These are just to get an idea of what most people would want/be capable of, the poll results won't neccessarily rigidly dictate what happens. We'll make it work. ^_^

So join the community and/or yahoo group, and tell us what you'd like to see! Also, you can message me at nevanfox on AIM, nevanfox@gmail.com, nevanfox@yahoo.com, or privately here on LJ.

A short notice about this will be posted to the other local LJ communities. Hope to hear from you!
